The result of a major remembrance project, the exhibition looks at the people who crossed the Pyrenees, and the Couserans in particular, during the 2nd World War.

The exhibition deals exclusively with all the events relating to the crossing of the Pyrenees (particularly in the Couserans) during the Second World War by all those who wanted either to join the Allied forces and continue the armed struggle, or to escape from the Nazis. In a room as vast as it is bright, you'll take a journey full of lessons and emotions: from the German occupation of Ariège to the internment camps in Spain, after learning about the deportation of Jews in Ariège, the smugglers and the past, with the following sub-chapters: the escapees from France, the different networks, the routes, the accommodation and the passages, tragic or sometimes happy, the allied pilots shot down on our territory, the children of the troops, the places of memory, the martyrs...
