The Cap du Carmil is a beautiful route through ridges and forests, with incomparable views of the Pyrenees and the Mont Valier massif, the Pic des Trois Seigneurs and Bassiès.

1/ You will start this walk at the Col de Péguère. You start in the forest. It's just as pleasant in summer to protect yourself from the heat as it is in winter to offer you a chilly atmosphere. Once you're out of the forest, we invite you to turn your head to the right to admire this exceptional view of the Pyrenees. The little square peak you see there is Mont Valier, the lord of the Couserans.
2/ Continue on towards Cap du Carmil, where you'll enjoy a well-earned panoramic view on arrival.
3/ Then head back down towards the Pic de Fronfrède, and just before the summit of Cap Long, return through the forest, which offers a cosy atmosphere in winter.
The trick is not to leave too early, so you can enjoy the sunset over the Col de Péguère on your return. Just incredible.
