This cross-border loop offers a different view of Mont-Valier and links several stopover lodges that have joined forces in its creation. An athletic trip that will satisfy both wilderness lovers and adventurous spirits.
There are several entry points for this loop of 6 days and 5 nights, which can also be travelled on a five-day alternative route.
In this wild territory of the Ariège Pyrenees and the Catalan Pallares Sobira, five guesthouses offer you a total change of scenery, a warm welcome and friendly cuisine.
Onwards to Mont Valier ! With hearts full of enthusiasm and our impatient imaginations already miles ahead travelling through peaks and valleys with a lightness that it will surely lose as fatigue weighs down our senses. We cross the village of Arêt, where we notice the old hunting house of the barons of Bethmale and, upon a hillock on the opposite side, the ruins of the old keep of Bramevaque, surrounded by a triple fortification wall … Then, we catch sight of Samortein and Ayet, the last villages of the valley and, finally, Bethmale lake.
